On a day like today, June 20, but in 1811, it was decreed in Mexico City that the effigy of the Spanish King Ferdinand VII on legal tender coins would be "naked bust" and not in the "armadilla" style, including for the gold ones, but this order was only executed almost exclusively in the silver ones when the bust with a toga appeared, and this until the end of that year. For some reason, and despite having the official design sent from Spain, and having been received in Veracruz since April 15 of that year, the minting of the correct bust began in the Mexican Mint until October or November 1811. , the other mints taking time to do so for technical reasons, although it would be by 1812 that the majority, with the exception of the Chihuahua Mint (which would do so until 1815), were already using this design.
